Overview
Sara Deen is president of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District Board of Education, a family dentist, and co-owner of a Torrance urgent care.1 She says she has balanced the district budget annually and led a 2024 bond measure for classroom repairs.1
Her campaign says she wants to close tax loopholes, lower energy costs, expand housing, and reduce special interest influence.2 At an April 2026 forum, she said the legislature should review special education funding.3 She signed a pledge to phase out modified hydrofluoric acid at a local refinery.3 In September 2026, she said the state should evaluate whether regulations hinder businesses.4 She told CalBike she supports prioritizing low-income communities of color for walking and biking funds.5
