Overview
Leif Halgard Andersen is a physics professor running for the San Gabriel Unified School District Governing Board.1 He names his top two district needs as helping students do well academically and making sure they feel supported, including extra help where students are struggling and support for teachers, counselors and staff.2 He sees artificial intelligence as a useful tool but wants students to learn to check facts and not let AI do the thinking for them.2 He also suggests requiring a civics course to help students learn how to disagree without arguing.2
Campaign money
Filed a Form 470, the short statement for candidates who expect to raise and spend less than $2,000 this year, so there’s no full report. Their filings are with Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.
