Overview
Eric Horne is the California director for Megafire Action.1 He previously served in the Peace Corps and as an FDA congressional liaison.2 He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.1
His campaign calls for balancing the budget, saving the pier, and regulating short-term rentals.3 At a debate, he proposed a dedicated pier fund of $2.5 million a year, funded partly by a surcharge on coastal short-term rentals.4 He projected a $9 million annual shortfall by 2032 and proposed $700,000 in cuts, including capping police overtime at $800,000 a year using AI analysis of crime data.4 He told a chamber forum he would create a tourism investment district and plan for visitors during the 2028 Olympics.1
