Nolan Southerland

Nolan Southerland is a film editor and member of IATSE Local 700.¹ Southerland supports rent stabilization and stronger tenant protections, including limiting annual rent increases to 3% or 60% of the Consumer Price Index, whichever is lower.² He supports creating a Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act, banning certain evictions, and dedicating city staff to enforce housing laws.² He also proposes expanding public housing and requiring community benefit agreements from private developers.²

He says he has organized with the Burbank Tenants Union and led Burbank Community Defense to defend the community from ICE.³ His stated priorities include investing in public transit and youth programs, and he opposes mass surveillance.³
