Liz Peterson

Liz Peterson is a parent and business owner running for the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District board.¹ She is an appointed member of the Rancho Palos Verdes Emergency Preparedness Committee, and her campaign says she has volunteered with district schools and parent-teacher groups since 2011.²

Her campaign lists transparent decisions, responsible budgeting, and school safety as main goals, and says she supports higher pay for teachers and staff.² In an interview, Peterson said the district should rethink how it provides mental health programs and that bond funds should prioritize needs like air conditioning, lighting, and safety.³ She said closing schools would be a last option and that the district needs a social media policy restricting employees from posting information on students' identities.³
