Overview
John Pickhaver is a nonprofit CEO, running coach, and chair of El Segundo’s Arts and Culture Advisory Committee.1 He co-founded the Sweat Equity Alliance, a community organization.2 He also co-founded the Gundo Pride celebration.3 His campaign says he helped develop the city's Cultural Arts Master Plan and get it adopted.4
He supports building housing for all income levels and adding homes near jobs to reduce commutes.1 He says the city needs housing east of Pacific Coast Highway and lost a $659,000 Metro grant when the council removed an affordable housing study.5 His campaign says he helped mobilize residents to defeat a planned data center.6 He pushed for transparency on a charter city proposal, arguing that resident input should guide decisions.3
