Franklin Carvajal

Franklin Carvajal is a psychologist and business owner.¹ He says he earned two PhDs from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Virginia Tech.¹ In a September 2026 candidate forum, he said he wants to be “the person in the middle” and would “shake things up.”² He said the city should “start with the small of the small” to help micro-businesses survive, noting that companies like Amazon and Apple are doing fine on their own.² In his candidate statement, he lists priorities including public safety, clean streets and parks, peaceful neighborhoods, thoughtful development, green spaces, responsible taxpayer spending, transparent government, and a council that listens to residents.¹
