Overview
Don Tracy is an attorney and senior counsel at the Brown, Hay & Stephens law firm.1 He chaired the Illinois Republican Party from 2021 to 2024 and the Illinois Gaming Board from 2015 to 2019.2 His campaign says his top priority is lowering the cost of living for working families by reducing taxes and energy and health care costs.3
He favors stronger borders and the enforcement of existing federal immigration laws.4 He opposes federal funding for abortion and supports leaving the issue largely to the states.4 For energy, he supports an "all-of-the-above" strategy and opposes federal regulations he says drive up costs.1
Tracy defended the U.S. war with Iran as necessary to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.5 He has said he would not be a "rubber stamp" for either party.4
