Overview
Celeste Rodriguez has represented California’s 43rd Assembly District since 2024.1 She previously served on the San Fernando City Council and was mayor from 2022 to 2024.1 Before holding office, she worked for the city of Los Angeles, where she oversaw a guaranteed basic income pilot program.2
In 2025, Governor Newsom signed her bill AB 495, allowing parents to designate a caregiver if separated by immigration enforcement.3 She advocated for $3.75 million in Proposition 4 funding for wildfire prevention and a new Sylmar fire station.4 Rodriguez voted for state Medi-Cal cuts affecting some immigrants, saying she felt torn over her responsibility to protect them.5 Her campaign prioritizes economic stability and career training.6 She also supports safe learning environments.6
