Carrie Uva

Carrie Uva is an estate planning attorney, real estate broker, and chair of the Downey Planning Commission and the Measure S and D oversight committees.¹ Her campaign priorities include partnering with police to recruit officers and strengthen Neighborhood Watch programs.¹ She also says she will fully fund police and fire services and cut red tape for small businesses.¹

She has called for a neighborhood traffic-calming program that lets residents report problem streets, and she says she will pursue traffic-safety grants.² To address homelessness, Uva wants to expand city-contracted street outreach and hire mental health officers for 5150 holds while enforcing laws to keep public spaces clear.³ In her 2020 campaign, she supported rent forgiveness during the COVID-19 pandemic.⁴
