Overview
Assemblymember Avelino Valencia has represented Anaheim, Orange and Santa Ana since 2022, and previously served on the Anaheim City Council.1 He authored bills stopping politicians who commit public crimes from using campaign funds for legal defense, and allowing consumers to opt out of data sales during corporate mergers.1 His "Home Run for Anaheim Act" would require the Los Angeles Angels to use the Anaheim Angels name to buy or lease the stadium under a Surplus Land Act exemption.2 He told the Orange County Register he wants to streamline housing production and pause proposals raising utility bills or business taxes.3 In 2024, he voted to phase in a ban on tackle football for children under 12, citing brain damage risks.4
